Help Us Turn Wisconsin Red! by RPDC Chair Mike Herl In our last conversation, we were discussing what it will take to get the Republicans to win this election. At the time of this writing, Wisconsin is in a statistical tie between McCain and Obama. So, how do we Republicans win this election? The answer is two-fold: volunteering and voting. I know that we all live very busy lives. I share with many of you the day-to-day grind of everything that a family goes through in order to make ends meet while educating our children, taking care of medical and financial situations, and social commitments. But keep this in mind, with the importance of this election: even an hour or two of volunteering for the RPDC or the Victory Center in Fitchburg could make the difference. Both the Victory Center and the RPDC offices are volunteer friendly and both offices would welcome walk-in volunteers as well as scheduled volunteers. Senator McCain has picked Sarah Palin as the V.P. nominee, and she is the red meat that the base has been looking for over this election cycle. Now we have to step up to the plate and help convince those individuals that have not made their decision at this late date to vote for McCain/Palin. We also have two crucial elections in the 47th District with Keith Ripp and the 80th District with Bret Davis. We need to hold on to these seats in the Assembly to prevent the governor and his fellow democrats from passing their utopian dream of socialized health care in Wisconsin. As wonderful and beautiful as “health care for all” sounds, we can’t afford it! Our friends on the left never seem to be content with the amount of money we spend for education every year in this state. And I know that they will NEVER be content with the amount of money spent on “health care for all.” So folks, we need your help. We need you and your friends and like-minded neighbors to step up and help us out. The Republican Party of Dane County is located at 437 South Yellowstone in Madison.
