Voting in Wisconsin Use this link to find out how to legally vote in the state of Wisconsin and also to stay informed on new voting laws and rule changes: Government Accountability Board. Statewide Voting Information Persons who are United States citizens age 18 or older who have resided in a municipality (city, village or town) or ward within a municipality for 10 days before any election is an eligible voter. Any persons convicted of treason, felony or bribery are not allowed to vote unless their civil rights are restored. How to Register to Vote Until the third Wednesday or 20 days before an election, a registration form can be printed from the State Elections Board Web site, http://elections.state.wi.us/index.asp completed and mailed with a photocopy of your WI Driver's License or last four digits of your social security number to your municipal clerk's office. [Your municipality is the one to which you pay taxes, not necessarily the same as your post office or phone.] Registration is allowed at the polls on Election Day in Wisconsin. How to Vote Absentee Absentee ballot requests made to your clerk must state your voting address within the municipality where you wish to vote, the address where the absentee ballot should be sent, if different, and your signature.
