Madison, Wis. – As former Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk travels throughout the state to increase her name recognition for the upcoming May 8th democrat primary race to face Governor Scott Walker in the June election, the Friends of Scott Walker campaign announced the launch of a new website, falkfacts.com. The website is being used to highlight what the campaign is calling the former county executive’s “outrageous tax-and-spend policies.”

“Failed two-time statewide candidate Kathleen Falk’s career in elected office has been wrought with one tax increase after another,” explained Walker campaign spokeswoman Ciara Matthews. “During her fourteen years as the senior executive of Wisconsin’s second largest county, Kathleen Falk raised property taxes on her constituents every year she was in office. Democrat Party Gubernatorial nominee-to-be Kathleen Falk has been under conservative fire recently for signing a pledge that, as Governor, she will veto any budget that doesn't return complete control of Wisconsin's schools to labor unions. The Republican Party of Dane County is outraged by this criticism of Ms. Falk and her union fealty.

Conservative attacks, particularly those launched by Republicans, have been blatantly hypocritical. For example, WEAC created a health insurance company called WEA Trust, then forced Wisconsin schools to use it and pay additional costs of tens of millions of dollars statewide each year without raising service levels. Aren't Republicans supposed to support entrepreneurship and profits?

The real question is why WEAC hasn't branched into additional sectors. Maybe they could open up a food catering...

Wisconsin Lt. Governor Rebecca Kleefisch takes on our former Dane County Executive in a recent piece to the Cap Times.  Apparently bored with retirement, Kathleen Falk has been attacking Governor Walker's reforms but is noticeably short on how she would address the same problems.  The Lt. Governor also takes Kathleen to task for her record here in Dane County.
