What An Amazing Lincoln Day Dinner!

Written by RPDC Secretary Nancy Bartlett

Snow and a failed November national election cannot stop the Republicans in Dane County from having a successful Lincoln day dinner.  Members and guests braved a nasty snowstorm and were welcomed by a music trio led by Chad Lee.  Hosts enjoyed conversation and a photo with our keynote speaker, Michael Zak.  Candidates Nancy Mistele, Judge Randy Koschnick, and Rose Fernandez were able to meet everyone and talk about their issues.  Our own Roger Stauter kept the event moving and added his own wonderful humor.  Speakers Pastor Robert Lee (invocation ), RPDC Chair Mike Herl, Attorney General J.B Van Hollen, Representatives Brett Davis, Keith Ripp and Scott Newcomer shared their messages.  Michael Zak gave everyone a history lesson and a review of what it means to be a Republican.  Mr. Zak received rave reviews from everyone.  The best thing about the evening was the excitement and upbeat atmosphere from everyone in attendance.  There is no doubt that the Republicans are on the r

ight track in Dane County.  We have elections to win this Spring, an RTA to defeat and a large successful picnic to plan the summer.  Next year's Lincoln Day Dinner will be bigger and even better, so don't miss it!!!!!

Thank you to everyone that helped with this year's event.  From making phone calls to helping with registration to playing music to speaking to taking pictures to lowering our expenses to inviting a friend to come along, everything makes a difference!

Congratulations to our awards winners!

Lincoln Day Dinner is a chance to honor a couple of outstanding RPDC members. This year the Volunteer Of The Year Award went to Mark Idzik.  Mark was responsible for getting out many small yard signs, and all of the large McCain/Palin yard signs. Mark was always willing to help with requests from RPDC and the Victory Center.  Mark, you made a huge difference this year.

The prestigious Lyman Anderson Award went to Jack Martz.  Jack has served as a supervisor on the Dane County Board for six years, representing Fitchburg.  He also served on the Fitchburg City Council.  Jack stands up for conservative causes, and is one of the sensible voices on the County Board.

Congratulations, Mark and Jack, and thank you for all you do.
