I appreciated feeling welcome at last night’s packed house (50-60 people?)…
learning and seeing much (in my 45 minutes present) that shifted my perspectives about those seen as “the enemy” (i.e. Republicans) by Democrats (and my past programming or ego judgments).

By listening with my “giraffe ears” (https://madison.com/wsj/news/local/govt-and-politics/madison-s-municipal-philosopher-carl-landsness-brings-the-moderation/article_21459f7e-a6e8-55fb-aa78-e1ff9f66210c.html), I could hear and honor the longings, beliefs, feelings and needs of the heart (and soul) of those speaking (and even those listening).

I repeat my offer to buy pints for any who wish to talk politics…
or explore win/win quests of the soul…
promising to wear my giraffe ears (to hear the feelings and needs of the heart… vs. judgments and fears of the head).

I also wonder how your group views the far right (e.g. this rally this Saturday: https://www.facebook.com/events/258488281733021/?active_tab=discussion

Or the far left (e.g. this counter rally on Saturday: https://www.facebook.com/events/488318554908626/)

And whether you plan any involvement

While not a Republican (or Democrat), I want to better understand the people and parties so bitterly divided on so much. I’m more concerned about the divisions and tactics than I am about the issues themselves… concerned that this nation will self-destruct if We The People do not find a better way to be with our adversaries. I’ve written to Scott Grabins about this… plus many letters to local media (https://madison.com/search/?sd=desc&l=25&s=start_time&f=html&t=article%2Cvideo%2Cyoutube%2Ccollection&app=editorial&nsa=eedition&q=carl+landsness) and a national academic forum (https://theconversation.com/profiles/carl-landsness-414454/activities?filter=comments).

I’ve also spoken with some of you at Reach Out Wisconsin forums in recents years.

I’m happy to buy any of a pint to talk such politics before your Pints & Politics meeting.
